feeding-americaSeptember is Hunger Action Month. The Dulles South Food Pantry is part of Feeding America – a nationwide network of 200 food banks and 60,000 food pantries and meal programs.  Feeding America is the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief organization and is leading the movement to solve hunger and raise awareness. Hunger exists in every community and nearly 1 in 6 Americans struggle to get enough to eat. You can help by supporting the Dulles South Food Pantry with donations of food, money and volunteer time.  This month, why not take action. All Hands on Deck

Volunteer Spotlight: Big thanks go out to our shopping team led by Amy B., Huyen N., and Barbara P. They regularly bargain shop to supplement our donations to provide necessities for our guests. We appreciate your had work and coupon cutting skills!

Food Drive Stars: Thanks to Girl Scouts Troop 5352, Party Divas, Loudoun Linkers, LVE, and Rotary Club of Ashburn. They raised 225bs of food this month.

Board Highlights

In August, the Board voted to change the pantry distribution days and times. Beginning Sept 1st, distributions are held on the 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of each month from 5-7 pm.

The Pantry is low on:

  • Canned Chicken & Other Protein
  • Oil
  • Small Bags of Rice
  • Canned Tomato Sauce
  • Breakfast Cereal

Coupons – Leave unexpired coupons and clippings in a plastic bag at any of our drop off locations. We can use these!

How YOU Are Helping

In August 2015, the pantry

  • Served 78 households
  • Served 342 individuals
  • Distributed 6,864 lbs of food
  • 113 Volunteers logged 465 hrs
